The City of Mobile is committed to improving stormwater quality through public education, cleanup events, and through our municipal operations.
In October 2014, the City of Mobile received a new National Pollutant Discharge Elimination Systems (NPDES) Permit for its storm water program. As required by this new NPDES Permit, the City has initiated an effort to routinely update its Storm Water Management Program (SWMP) Plan. The SWMP Plan describes the activities performed by the City to help improve the quality of storm water discharged from the storm sewer system. The link below will provide you with an Adobe Acrobat version of the 2020 SWMP Plan.
Did you know that storm water is not treated and goes straight to a body of water -- where we swim & fish? Storm water runoff can collect many different types of pollution before it reaches a body of water like a stream or bay.
